Mr. Mister: Kyrie

Nice punchy rock tune. The title, Kýrie, eléison means “Lord, have mercy” in Greek, and is a part of many liturgical rites in Eastern and Western Christianity. According to Page the entire song is, essentially, a prayer. Also of interest (and according to Wikipedia), when the first Mr. Mister album was released in 1984, Page was offered the chance to replace Bobby Kimball as lead singer of Toto, and later was offered Peter Cetera’s place in Chicago. He refused both offers.

I can really dig the lyrics in this song. I enjoy songs that actually have some sort of meaning or make you think, unlike most of the music on the radio these days.

Music has such an impact on all of us, especially our children. I always hope that my children will listen to wholesome music that does not influence them in the wrong way.

I don’t think the lyrics of songs influences kids as much as some people would tell you. Kids see far worse things on television or the internet daily. It is up to the parents to teach the kids what should be taken from those songs.
